Många religioner kommer nuförtiden till oss med inskränkande flin med öppna armar, som en olje köpman i en basar/marknad. De erbjuder tröst, solidaritet och upplyft i livet, tävlar som de gör i en marknadsplats. Men vi har rätt att komma ihåg hur barbariskt de betedde sig när de var starka och gjorde ett erbjudande om att folk inte kunde tacka nej till.
